- Christmas Cards for our Community
With only less than 2 weeks to go till the Christmas Carnival in Blockhouse Bay! We’ll be joining in on the festivities by making Christmas Cards for our community. Whether you want to make one for someone special or pop it into our letterbox for it to go to a senior at West Auckland Hospice we'd love to see you! We're teaming up with West Auckland Hospice and giving back to the seniors in our community who spend Christmas alone and may not receive anything. This season, let’s make a difference by creating heartfelt Christmas cards to brighten their day and remind them they’re loved and remembered. A simple card can bring joy, hope and connection so let’s share the spirit of the season together! Thanks to the Blockhouse Bay Village for letting us be part of the Christmas Carnival and to the Whau Local Board for providing the support we need to make it all possible (Christmas cards and all). If you'd like to make some Christmas Cards for those in need please contact us directly or drop them off to us in the office before the 15th of December.
- Important Notice for 2026
With the end of the year fast approaching, our Centre will be closing it's doors for a bit longer than usual. As always, our last day will be on the 19th of December 2025 so our amazing staff and volunteers can take a well deserved break over the holidays however we will remain closed until the 2nd of March 2026 due to renovations taking place. Our staff will return from the 12th of January 2026 where they will be monitoring emails, social media channels and doing some mahi behind the scenes. If you need to contact them at all during the closure please don't hesitate to reach out. Alternatively, you can always use the contact us form on our website. We want to thank the Whau Local Board for making these renovations possible and to the Blockhouse Bay Baptist Church who have made sure some of our regular groups have space to continue their mahi within the bay. Thank you to our hirers and community who have shared supportive words during this bump in the road. We apologise to those who have been impacted by the closure but rest assured, we will be reopening our doors in March 2026 and hope you're able to come down and celebrate with us when the time comes. Please note: Armanasco house is still available to hire for smaller gatherings. Please contact us directly or book through Spacetoco.
- Farewell to our School Holiday Programme
For over 20 years , our School Holiday Programme has been a space of joy, creativity, and connection. From bouncy castles and messy crafts to nerf wars and out-of-centre adventures exploring Tāmaki Makaurau, it’s been a place where tamariki could laugh, learn, and grow. Although this news may bring mixed emotions (and trust us, we feel it too), we want to thank each and every one of you who has been involved in our journey over the years. We're grateful for the connections we've made and memories shared. While the Holiday Programme may be ending, we’re excited about what’s next. We’re already dreaming up new ideas and fresh initiatives to keep our community engaged during the school holidays — so watch this space !
