    Come down to the Saturday Markets on the 10th of May to make something special for Mum! Not sure what to get Mum this Sunday? Don't fret! Our Centre is getting involved in the Community Market this Saturday by providing a FREE pop up Mothers Day Creation Station for you to come on down and make something beautiful for mum. Join our Community Facilitator to make a card and bracelet for Mum. We'll even have some free colouring in activities provided by The Make Company!   • Composting Workshop in the Bay!

    Register your interest today at compostcollective.org.nz We're so excited to have Adam from The Compost Collective in our Centre next Monday to teach our wonderful community everything you need to know about composting in your very own backyard! Whether you're an avid gardener or just starting out - this Introduction to Composting Workshop is something you definitely don't want to miss out on! Hosted by The Compost Collective and supported by EcoMatters, Auckland Council and Kaipātiki Project - this workshop is great for those who want to learn more about composting and how to turn your food waste into nutrient-rich soil for your māra (garden).   • Blockhouse Bay Community Shed

    Come on down to the monthly meeting! Every second Wednesday of the month from 7pm in the Iona Scout Hall Are you passionate about building, crafting and connecting with others? The Blockhouse Bay Community Shed are a part of a collaborative project looking for more members to join the growing working group to help set up a community shed right here in the bay. Whether you're handy with tools, have experience in project planning or just want to get involved - Shed Matters wants to hear from you! They welcome all talents and contributions so be part of something exciting and help to create a space or creativity, leaving and community spirit.   • Table Tennis is here!

    Did somebody say ping pong?! That's right! The Blockhouse Bay Community Centre are excited to get behind free table tennis classes for our community! Come down to our Centre from 12.30pm - 2.30pm on Mondays and Fridays to put your table tennis skills to the test and join a group of like minded individuals. With support from the Auckland Table Tennis Association, we have bats and balls provided along with one table for those who may not have their own equipment.   • New Craft Group in the Bay!

    Calling all crafters from near and far! The Blockhouse Bay Community Centre have their very own Craft & Coffee group starting on Monday 24th February in the Small Hall from 10am - 12pm. Whether you crochet, knit, junk journal, sew or like to do a little bit of everything - the door is open to our crafting community. Bring your crafts down to the Centre on Monday and meet like minded people over a cuppa. We hope to see you all next week!

  • Drop off point for Pregnancy Help

    Pregnancy Help provide free, practical support and advice to anyone caring for Tamariki in Aotearoa. Part of their mahi involves the collection of good quality second-hand items for babies, toddlers and parents. The team at the Blockhouse Bay Centre are proud to be a drop off point for such a great organisation. We accept the following items: Clothing from newborn to 4 years Baby towels Muslin Wraps Burp Cloths Blankets/Sleep sacks Sensory toys and books Maternity clothes and pads Disposable and reusable nappies Bouncers Baby Gyms Play Mats Drop off times are Monday - Friday 10am - 3pm at the main office.

    Get up and get moving this morning with Annie’s Active Achievers (65+ Years) before the end of the year. Perfect for those who are unable to stand for long periods of time but want to get out of the house and get in some exercise within a safe, fun space.   • Preschool Song & Dance for under 5 pop up sessions for Term 4 2024!

    With only one more week to go before Term 4 kicks off - we want to welcome Karin and Pam who are hosting a free pop up Preschool Song and Dance class in our small hall for only 6 weeks during term 4. This class is perfect for children under 5 and for parents who are wanting to start their week off on the right foot! Please note: parents must stay with their child at all times.
